The Geraldton District Hospital is a full accredited multi-care facility serving the 8000 residents of Greenstone (Geraldton, Longlac, Nakina, Beardmore, Caramat and First Nations communities). The hospital was constructed in 1963 with extensive renovations in 1989 to long term care, laboratory and the pharmacy. A heliport was added in 1986.

The hospital has 23 acute care beds including: 2 monitored cardiac care beds, a palliative care suite, 2 pediatric beds and low risk obstetrics as well as 26 long term care beds. The hospital also has a 24 hour emergency department staffed with dedicated emergency nurses.

The Geraldton Medical Group practice is located in the new Northern Horizon Medical Centre that is adjacent to the hospital. The Geraldton Medical Group is supported by: a fully computerized charting system, 6 exam rooms, and 1 procedure room.

The modern Nakina Clinic is located in the T.H Mckilip Health Centre along with the Emergency Response Unit. A community of approximately 600, Nakina is within a hours drive of Geraldton.

The Nakina Clinic is staffed with a full-time, bilingual, registered nurse and a receptionist. Currently the Geraldton Medical Group physicians provide patient care in Nakina two or three times each week.
