Gain valuable medical experience in Geraldton while enjoying the benefits of a small rural Northern Ontario community.

The Geraldton Medical Group is currently recruiting family physicians to join their medical team.  Physicians receive a guaranteed income through an Alternate Payment Plan and time off to enjoy a quality lifestyle.  The practice is located in the Northern Horizon Health Centre immediately adjacent to the Geraldton District Hospital. The Group is funded for 7 family physicians under a Northern & Rural Physicians Group Agreement (RNPGA). Flexible work arrangements for both full and part time physicians are available.

Physicians provide primary health care at the clinics in Geraldton and Nakina as well as ER coverage at the Geraldton District Hospital.  Minor surgical services are optional.  Full specialists back-up is available in Thunder Bay.  The physicians are affiliated with the Greenstone Family Health Team and have access to Nurse Practitioners and other health care professionals.

Physicians can provide educational and practicum opportunities for medical students and residents from various universities and residency programs.

The Rural and Northern Physicians Group Agreement (RNPGA) provides an annual income range of $386,000 to $401,000 with 8 weeks paid vacation/CME.

Geraldton is designated as an underserviced area by the MOHLTC and Family Physicians are eligible for the Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Incentive of $113,400 over 4 years.  The Hospital offers other incentives such as education funds, free clinic space and supplies as well as relocation cost reimbursement.

Untouched wilderness and a small friendly community add to the attraction.  Located on picturesque Kenogamisis Lake, you can enjoy hot summers with 10 pm sunset, great fishing, canoeing, and a beautiful 18-hole golf course.  You can also enjoy many winter activities such as curling, ice fishing, snowmobile and cross country skiing.  Geraldton is an ideal place to start your career.
