Diagnostic Imaging
The hospital boasts a state of the art imaging department. Both x-ray and ultrasound are offered. Two experienced technologists registered in both professions are available around the clock. Appointment waiting time is usually one week and urgent exams are fit in right away. Exams presently offered are general x-ray, ultrasound of OB/GYN, abdominal, and small parts with colour flow Doppler enhancement. The technologists have recently completed basic Doppler and Breast Ultrasound courses. The department is on the PACS system. All examinations are sent to a radiologist group in Burlington. Reports are sent to our printer within 2 days of the exam, often on the same day. Verbal reports are also available. With the PACS system it is possible for specialists at receiving hospitals to view images for consult. A new Philips x-ray unit is now installed and a new portable machine completes the modernization of the department.
