BPSO - Evidence Booster
The John Owen Evans Residence has achieved significant improvements in resident pain management through the implementation of the RNAO Assessment and Management of Pain Best Practice Guideline. Since adopting the guideline in 2018, the home has strengthened assessment processes, enhanced documentation, and integrated evidence-based tools such as PAINAD. As a result, the percentage of residents whose pain worsened dropped from 34.2% to 0%, while the home consistently maintained 100% of care plan completion for residents experiencing pain. This work reflects the team's ongoing commitment to high-quality, person-centred care and continuous quality improvement. Click on the button below to read the full article.
