Hospital Emergency Department Triage Area Relocation

The Emergency Department triage area, formally known as the Assessment Centre, operated by the Geraldton District Hospital will now be located on the top floor of the hospital (main lobby) as of April 30, 2020.

All patients requiring medical assistance are asked to please report to the Emergency Department triage area located on the top floor of the hospital where you will be screened, and depending on your screening results, may be registered and Triaged prior to being assessed by the Physician on site. The purpose of the new Triage area is to decompress the Emergency Room of the GDH and prevent unnecessary risk to the patients and staff.

You will be screened and asked to put on a mask upon entrance. You will then be Triaged by a Nurse who will determine whether you require further aid in the Emergency Department or whether you will remain upstairs to be seen by the Physician. The Physician will determine based on pre-set criteria whether or not you require testing for COVID-19.

The triage area will operate 7 days a week from 08:00am to 08:00pm. During off hours, please report to the Emergency Department to be assessed.

We appreciate your patience and co-operation during this time.
