Quality Improvement Plan

Last year, the new Excellent Care for All Act mandated all hospitals in Ontario to produce an annual Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).  Most hospitals, including Geraldton District Hospital (GDH) have had a Plan for many years.  The new mandate ensures that Plans are consistent and contain certain requirements, such as:

  1. Annual improvement targets
  2. Executive compensation linked to the achievement of targets
  3. Staff satisfaction surveys
  4. Patient satisfaction surveys
  5. Publicly post the Plan

The 2011/12 Plan was developed by the Quality Improvement Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.  The Plan was then forwarded to the North West Local Health Integration Network and the Ontario Healthy Quality Council.  The GDH’s QIP can be viewed on the Hospital’s website: www.geraldtondh.com.

If you do not have access to a computer, please contact Diane Kampela at (807) 854-1862 ext. 102 and she will gladly mail you a copy.

If you are a patient, then you are encouraged to complete the new customized department patient satisfaction feedback cards.

Remember, the Hospital needs your feedback to help improve services.

Thank you.
